Welcome New Faculty: Prof. David I. Ketcheson

Dr. David I. Ketcheson has joined the SRI Uncertainty Quantification center at KAUST. David is an applied mathematician specializing in numerical analysis.  His research focuses on numerical methods for nonlinear wave equations and time integration of PDEs.  He joined KAUST in July 2009.  He leads development of software projects including the PyClaw package for massively parallel solution of hyperbolic PDEs.  David received bachelor's degrees in Physics & Astronomy and in Mathematics from Brigham Young University.  He earned his doctoral and master’s degrees in Applied Mathematics at the University of Washington, where he was a U.S. Department of Energy Computational Science Graduate Fellow.
